--Check the heater control valve. It's probably broken/stuck and is blocking the flow to the heater core. And check for plugged heater hoses while you are at it.
A 160 degree t-stat will not give much heat when the temps drop below 30 or so. If you are using a 160, go up to the 190+ one, it is what the truck should have. It's a weird number, like 193 or something. It will NOT make your truck overheat in summer, as the operating temp of your truck is higher than the t-stat.
2. 83 bronc with 302 2v, how do i adjust the thing. got it from a guy in arizona, dont know what he did but its all messed up
--Adjust what? The carb? If so, start by setting it at the factory recommended idle speed. Then, locate the air mixture screw(s) and turn them all the way in (be careful not to use force when seating them, so you don't damage the needles on the ends). Then back them out two complete turns. Then check/set the idle again. The "two turns" is a good rule of thumb and generally works well. Finally, check/adjust the timing and reset idle for the final time.
