Anyone near Pickering, Ontario want to grab up a few 390s?
On Brock Road, 1.5 km. north of Hwy.7, on the west side, there's a small wrecking yard having a "moving" sale. Time is very limited as they will be moving in 1 week. They intend to crush whatever is left over.
There's 3 Galaxies & 1 66 Fairlane with 390s in them and a few trucks with FEs as well.
AL.
I'm going to try for the 66 Fairlane GTA, 390, auto. My buddy is going for the 2 68 Galaxies. One's a 390 car & the other is 302.
The price of scrap just dropped this week, so we're hoping to get a break on a package deal.
There's still the remains of a 66 Gal. rag, 390 that would only be good for cores. Also a few, probably 360, pick-ups.

P.S. FFR428,CT. isn't close to Toronto unless you really need something.

Yea I hear ya. The yards around here and pretty poor. You can't rumage through the lots anymore because of insurance reasons. I used to spend my sat mornings going form lot to lot picking up odd things needed. Now you have to sit in the office and have someone look for you and rarely get to set foot in the yard. That and scrap is moving so fast if an older car does come in it's gone within days. Bummer. G.
I just have to add this for you salvage deprived fellows. If you want/need any FE parts or truck parts, take a trip up here to Montana. I think it must have been law to drive a 70's ford cause they are everywhere. The yard I pick from currently has 8-9 FE's just waiting for you guys to build. Its just too bad Montana is so far away from the eastern area, its a great concealed resource.
Montana was alot more fun when they didn't have speed limits on the highways. That's how long it's been since I've been there. (hang a northbound at Shelby & head to Calgary)
FFR428...you don't want to come up here to the many, many pull your own yards that we have. You might wind up staying!
We may have a 3rd guy interested in getting in on the package deal. If so, and the prices are low enough, I'm going to try for another 390 or a couple of 360s.

Lock, stock & 4 barrel.
Common proceedure for flattening cars for transport requires one car be put in the crusher facing right to left, squashed, then the next on is put in on top of it but facing left to right & both cars are crushed together. That way, the engines being the biggest chunks, are at opposite ends, which creates a fairly level bundle to load on the truck.
Some yards actually RIP the drivetrains out with their cranes to get the higher price for machine parts. Usually, after the crane disects the car, the cast cores are broken & only a few internal parts remain useable.
No matter what kind of car you see this happen to, it's a sad thing.

it is a sad thing i see many good engines that will never be made again crushed and the trucks too i heard for each 70's ford truck they can make 4 small cars
