i see all these automotive shows like pimp my ride and american hotrod
and they use a bunch of body bondo, to me that just seems like there cutting corners i think if u make the new panels or patches out of metal wouldnt it be better?
whats yalls opinions on this

I haven't had an opportunity to watch pimp my ride, but I do try to regularly watch american hotrod. At least on American Hotrod I think they try to use as many original pieces as possible as some of the replacement parts just don't fit, as evidenced on the mustang door they replaced, the bottom gap was over a half an inch and they had to weld in a piece to make it right. Also on American Hotrod I've seen them use lead and such to fill in the holes. The painter guy Charlie said they just us it a skim coat to make the surface even smoother, not necessarily to patch holes.
