3rd seal now

ok so a few months ago i put a new edlebrock intake and carb on my truck and have since went through 3 seals on the rear of the valley pan and it still wont seal up what am i doing wrong. i torqued the manifold just how it says to and it still leaks. the seal is in just like its suposed to be to. i just wanna ahhh

are you using the rubber gasket or silicone? If your using the rubber that could be the problem. A nice thick bead of silicone works well!

right on! but i hope my rubber seals holdup. I have the printoseal gaskets for head to intake.

hope not its brand new and it didnt look like it i also inspected the block and nothing seems to be wrong there either so i think i will just fix it in a few months when i do my heads

I alwayes take a puch and demple the block and intake about every 1/2 inch, that gives the silicone something to hold on to. Front and back.

I had the same problem on my 400 when I put on an Edlebrock intake. I just used a good thick beed of RTV silicone sealant from Ford, it works great. If you're interested the part # is TA 31. I think it used to be CXC 114. This is the stuff they brought out for the 7.3 diesel. As I said this stuff works amazing and I would never use anything else.
