Now I have a question for all those out there that have installed a new carpet. I am installing a new carpet as we speak and would like to know of any problems people have ran into or a few tricks of the trade. This is my first time and I am roughly going of blind luck on this one. So any help, tips or pictures would be great. The carpet that I have is one from LMC. My truck is a standard cab with an automatic on the column. Oh also there is a low rise for the transmission.
how did the carpet fit. i'm gonna be doing the same to my truck here in a couple months. any pointers now that you have done it? sorry i don't have any advice but i'm as blind as you.
well I read on a different website to let the carpet sit to regain it's form. I have done that but I still have a few wrinkles in it. Over all it fits pretty darn good. You still have to cut a hole for the column, the fuse box, and the gas pedal. Other than that all I did was put it in and helped it form to the floor. Now all I have to do is spray a little bit of glue and hopefully call it a day. Oh I also installed some 3-in-1 heat shield and sound deadener. Still looking for any tips to finish the install though thanks.
I installed new carpet in my Ranger, and it was a piece of cake. Make sure that you lay, or better yet hang, the carpet for a few days to fall back into shape, it will be wrinkled from being in the box. Get yourself a trim puller, and take your time so you don't damage anything. Get the carpet where you want it, and put everything back together. Good luck!
