MPG question
I'm a visitor to this section of the site. I normally hang out in the diesel section. My son has an '86 Ranger, and he's interested in finding out if his gas mileage is typical. Most of his driving is aroung town, with maybe 1/4 of the time on the freeway. He gets 16mpg. His truck is:
86 Ranger SC, 2.9L, AT, 2wd. (I think it bothers him some that I get the same mileage out of my Crew Cab 4X4 Powerstroke.)

MPG question
I have an 88 2.94x4 supercab auto, and if I get 15 I am very lucky. It is stock. I hope this help some. My son is concerned about the mileageas he is about to inherit it from. I am getting a 92 4.0 4x4 supercab 5spd. Which if it is anything like the Explorer I had with the 4.0 auto. It gets a little better gas mileage around 19 mpg.
