I have a 99 F-150 with a 4.2L V6. I just got the transmission rebuilt. I have also read in the transmission spotters guide to stay away from the 4r70w transmission on the V6. I have been thinking that when my V6 dies, I want to swap it for V8. Will the 4.6L V8 or any other V8 fit on my transmission? I am just curious right now and it is just a thought.
I've yet to try this with a 4.2 but from what I understand the 4.2 and 3.8 are just about the same motor and they use the same motor mounts, bellhousing, etc... so that means the 5.0 will bolt to your transmission.
