I have a 1999 F250, the abs light is illuminated. I have a Superchip microtuner and there are no DTC's listed. I jacked up the rear tires and ran the truck, the light did not come on. So I think it is the Front ABS sensors on the knuckles. Does anyone know the resistance of the sensors, when i go to test them? Or can anyone give me anymore trouble shooting ideas.
Your SCMT will not pull ABS codes but you could always go to your local parts store and have them pull them for you. Does your light come on right after you start the truck and stay on or does it come on when you are running down the road?
Did a little diagnostic work today myself. I jacked up the rear tires and ran the wheels and no light. Did the same with each front tire. On both front tires light did come on. Was a little puzzled by this, but i came to the conclusion that the crapped out sensor was in the rear. Not sure how I did that, LUCK i guess but it was the right decision. Changed the rear sensor and it is FIXED. Hope my thread helps other with the diagnostic of the light.
Great form here. Always has helped me.
Thanks
Jeff
