Power Folding Mirrors

Sure wish the folding mirror option had been there on the 04's, has anyone looked in to adding the 05 KR Folding Mirrors option to an 04? Have a lariat with the heated/turn signal mirrors, but sure would like the folding option as I have to fold them in to get the truck in next to my wifes SUV in the garage. What are thoughts on if this would be doable or not, I'd guess would have to buy at least new mirrors and control, any other thoughts/recommendations?

I have to fold one mirror in to squeeze my '05 Lariat into the garage. I'm going to look into getting a set of those KR power folding mirrors installed sometime in the future. I'm sure it can be done. The switch is right on the mirror control gimbal.

yeah, I hear on the KR you just pull back on the mirror control stick and they fold in. Pull back again and they extend back out.

That would have been nice. I have been using my extendable ice scraper to hook the edge of the mirror and pull it in but my wife found an easier way: just drive too close to the garage entrance and let the wood trim snap the mirror out of the way. It works when you enter and exit the garage and the 30 minutes of elbow grease it takes to get the damn house paint off of the mirror is well worth it...because she isn't the one rubbing it out You guessed it, she now parks in the driveway and I pull both vehicles in the garage at the end of the day.

Hell, i can't even get my truck in the garage, so it would be a wasted featre, but all it would be is a matter of switching the mirror assemblies and the control switch out with the ones from the KR. Easliy done if you have the time and a little bit of know how. Most you would have to do is maybe trim the inside of the doorpillar depending on how big the motor is to fold

Unhappy Power Folding Mirrors on 05 Lariat

Power Folding Mirrors found on a 2005 F150 King Ranch SuperCrew will NOT work on a 2005 F150 Lariat SuperCrew.

If anyone out there has wiring information regarding power folding mirrors found on a 2005 King Ranch and a 2005 Lariat I would sure love to hear from you. I left the power folding mirror on the door hoping to revisit this after some research. The connection on the power folding mirror has 4 additional pins. I suspect one pin is for the puddle lamp, one pin for fold, one pin to retract. Just don't know. It goes to chow you the Ford will do whatever is necessary to force people to buy the most expensive car. One would have thought that the wiring harness would be the same on a King Ranch/Lariat. Well, that is not the case.

Looking forward to some wiring information.
