Just curious what coffee's people like? I vote for maxwell house, even though my real favorite is S&D, but I can't find it in stores. Only restaurants.
In the Pacific Nwst, you can typically pick from three or four brands of coffee, and how you want your caffeine (expresso, latte, mocha, etc) at your basic Chevron or Shell Station. That all ends about 200 miles East of Portland. We've gotten so spoilt, we just bring our own when we travel- or, in an emergency, hunt down a Starbucks for a Vente Latte.
LOL! I have to say that some of the new "house" coffees just taste like crap. Arby's has this crap they call coffee that tastes more like engine degreaser, and that's after it's sat for a few hours.. It's worse fresh.

Two days ago, in a little town of 4500 people, I had a couple McD's double cheesburgers and a big cup of Seattle's Best (Mickey D's has finally upgraded the coffee service up here). That same town has a Starbucks and three drive-thru Expresso joints within a miles radius. Last year, I choked down what had to be a cup of Folgers after lunch in a pretty swanky place outside of San Diego- couldn't believe it.
folgers the kind with the meter on the can that points to dark...and then I make it strong... and I heat up the leftovers the next day to remove paint

Maxwell House at the house .The best I ever had was at the Ga. State Parks Restaurants.I don't know what the name is .They will not tell you ,but it got to be the best I've had.
Down in Louisiana we drink Community coffee. We find it in several other states too.
On good thing about Mc'D's and Truck stops that serve a lot of travellers is the Coffee. They make enough coffee during the day, that it's almost always fresh.
Drink 8 O'clock coffee, like to half n half with the Hazel Nut and Decaf. It's getting hard to find in big bags at a decent price. Down south they have Brothers coffee and it taste just like 8 O'clock. Take ground coffee on the road with me.
I prefer Folgers, not the instant stuff. I always drank Maxwell House.
Then I realized both sets of grandparents had the best coffee, and they both used Folgers.
At work its nothin but Sams Club. I can tell a difference. Its okay, but there is a quality gap.
StarBucks....Vanilla Latte
