I have been having a bad miss for months, replacing everything.
Put some good Moroso Blue Max Spiral Core wires on, replacing other new, but inexpensive wires. I had major arcing between the black caps that go onto the distributor. If they got to within 1/8 or so they would arc with a bright blue continous spark. I managed to turn them all "just so" to eliminate the arcing, HOWEVER; I do not see this as normal? What is it a possible indication of? Wrong coil? Ballast resistor problem? ?? ?? ?? Could it be the cause of my miss all along even when there is no arcing, just as an indicator of a problem?
73' 302, stock distributor with a magnetic pickup points replacement unit, coil unknown but looks cheap, ballast resistor old, but working (I think)
Hey packrat56.If you had arcing problems with old high resistance wires you may have carbon tracking on the cap. Even with new wires the carbon track would have less resistance than the plug gap. This may be a good time to replace the cap and rotor. Carl......o&o>........
Packrat56, sorry i forgot to mention on the last post, did you gap and install new plugs? That would be a bad thing missing for months like you stated.

Everything checked out fine, so I called Moroso. The "have been having some problems" with these wires..(why did they ship them??) Anyway, I sent them back and they will send a new set, hope they are better...
