I just purchased an 84 Bronco and it has the 351 Windsor High output 4v. The body is scrap and so is the interior but the drive train is good. While driving this home I was extreamly leary as parts were dropping off with every bump in the road!! Anyway the engine really impressed me considering all the pollution crap on it and being in a full size Bronco 4x4.Anyway can anyone tell me other than the 4 barrel carb and intake (all stock) is there any difference between it and a 2 barrel 351w's. Are the heads a little better or something?? Thanks in advance!!
The heads aren't anything special. The 302 HO E7TE are better, the 302/351w gt-40 are a lot better, the 302 gt-40p are equivalent to the non p gt-40's and obviously flow better than the 351wHO heads.
Supposedly the same cam was put in the 84HO351w and every 85 351w after that until they went efi.
Well I will put it this way, when I purchased the truck it was bone stock, with dual exhaust it did not have a lope w/t stock timing and idle rpm. I had the engine rebuild using a stock replacement camshaft, it still does not lope. Either I was unlucky (if this is considered bad luck) twice or our definitions of lope are different.
Any chance you could post a sound or video/sound clip?
