My passenger side is 3/4" lower. Yes, that would be a .75er of an inch.
This make no sense in head of mine. Gas tanks on drivers side, transfer case, all the steering stuff, AC pump, and the little stuff like the windshield wiper fluid resevoir, radiator over flow resevoir, clucth fluid resevoir, all that crap.
I have dual batts, so they ballance out. The only things on the passenger side that the other doesnt have is the alternator, AC unit, turbo and exhaust. That adds up to, oh, 1 pound or so? Then add myself to the drivers side... why oh why my poor little (long) passenger side?
I dont mind, but everything i mount from now on will be on the drivers side (propane etc).
My speculation upon this matter is that the "clutch" in the limited slip is worn out, therefore all most all of the power goes to the one side, causeing it to sag.
This was the longest post I have ever made that had no real value in it.....

Welcome to the club. I'll see if I can measure to the axle and then swap springs tomorrow. This is bizzare. I don't think it really affects anything but it sure messes with my bling and I can't have that. I suppose what I could try doing too is run a straight edge from eye to eye on the leaf springs and then measure to the axle to see if one of them is sagging.
I think your frame's bent, your tires are not the same size, the ground isn't level, your springs are tweaked, your axle's bent, your shackle center-to-center's not the same, and you're cockeyed!!!
Seriously, I've NEVER seen a vehicle that sits completely level from side to side...not even brand new ones. BTW, I've only got a .25" difference in side-to-side height. I have NO IDEA how I got it that close. Luck, I guess. Should go buy a lottery ticket for tonight........
Cody
PS,
Just put more air pressure in the low-corner tire.
just finished, put the spacer in and adjusted the bumper. looks great, took out my trusty level and all is good. after that i recaliberated my speedo for the 35s i put on. fresh oil change and new air filter, today is a good day!
My frame is twisted right at the cab/bed interface. My cab sits level, but the bed is kicked up on the driver's side. If you've ever had a front tire and teh opposite side rear tire fully unloaded, look in that area, see if the top and bottom of teh frame are completely flat. On one side my bottom frame rail dips down slightly, on the other the upper points up a little.
Yea, I don't know that I've ever seen a rig that was perfectly level. The '73 sits 3/8" lower on the driver side. Then again, maybe I need to drop some lbs. The funny thing is, I bet you can't tell the difference on yours but because you KNOW its there its driving you nuts
my DD sits almost an inch lower on the driver side than on the passenger side. it didnt do it until i lowered it with a spring and block kit. after putting about 6k on the springs, it sits pretty even now. i think with that, me weighing 240 and a 15 gallon gas tank my little truck is just nearly giving out under the weight. i threw my 460 in the bed for a few days and its sat even ever since.
Well I don't know if I was drunk or the ground was uneven or if Cody was just right about everything but I remeasured this morning and now I am showing the front as being a little low also. I think tomorrow I'll build some new shackles and make the driver's side shackles about 1" longer to fix this problem. It's really annoying the crap out of me. When I find a 30+ gallon rear tank I'll pull the side tank out all together. This should give me more room for my exhaust also.
These guys have like a 40 gallon rear tank for your truck, and they are the only game in town I know of that even has them for "highboys". I'd put one in mine but all the rear bracing on my frame would get in the way of it.
Just make your truck a rear-engine mounted one. Shouldnt take but a day or two...
Then put the gas up front, so when you ram something nice and hard, it looks really cool from the driver's and passenger's point of view. You know, all the flames and stuff.
It be so much better that way anyways, I mean, if your gonna ruin a tank on the trail, it might as well be awesome, not just a deep slash or gouge from a rock, right?
So, uh....after all this stress about your truck being lopsided, and you building longer shackles on one side to compensate, etc....you checked all the basics, right?
I mean, it would be pretty silly if your good buddy came down to help you fab and pointed out that the 44s on your driver side were only at @3psi which is what was causing the whole truck to look lopsided. Which means once aired up your gonna have to re-do those longer shackles.
Or that the reason your truck won't start is that its out of gas.
Yeah, sadly enough it never occured to my feeble little mind that maybe the tires aren't aired evenly. About 3-5PSI front and rear on the driver's side and 20PSI on the passenger's side. I still don't know how I didn't blow a bead on my test drive. In any event it picked the driver's side up a bit. I still have a little sage on the back corner of my bed but not too bad.
