V10 Spark plug blow out?
Just curious based on my previous research -- the plug that blew, which one was it? And are they the plugs that came with the vehicle or have they been changed recently?
Here are a couple links that might help:

I bought a very good extended warranty through my credit union but I need to check to see if it would cover something like this.
From what I read, if you change them at 50k the problem is drastically reduced.
Heck, I'll just change them every 30k or so....
Heck, I'll just change them every 30k or so....
That is the most critical bit...
Does anyone agree that that is a valid concern?
I will buy a nice TQ wrench so that atleast I can double check...
If you guys want to know if your extended warranty will cover it, then just call them and ask...I got what I thought was an outstanding warranty from my credit union as well...
The Warranty company finally relented and payed for the parts, $1531.00...they labor is on me....
I sent a letter to Ford and we'll see what happens...I may just have to buy other than Ford corporate vehicles....

The extra threads don't make any difference when the Ford engine head is designed like this (from autolite's web site):

I haven't seen anything (except opinons) as to whether Ford has changed the head design. From what I have read/seen, it is designed this way at least from 99-02.
From all the posts I have read on the subject (trust me I have read a lot on this subject), extended warranties are most likely NOT going to cover it. I can only recall one post where the person said their extended warranty covered parts and labor with no hassle. Either it is not covered (period). Or like guruatbol, they had to fight to get some/all covered.
I would advocate doing it yourself (see the link about changing it yourself). I have read several posts where the plug blew shortly after a change or, because a couple of the plugs are hard to get to, the owner discovered not all plugs were changed.
But when you do it yourself, you MUST have a good torque wrench. That is your best defense: correctly torqued plugs. Torque 'em right when you change them. And check them peridodically.
If you do have a blow, I have read nothing but good things about the time-sert repair, and it is 10% of the cost of changing the head.
'nuff said. Read (lots) more in the links above, and I am sure others will chime in.
