Building a 351

I Have Been Wanting To Build Up A 351 To Put In My 95 F150 Which As Of Now Only Has A 300. But I Am Unsure Where I Need To Start At And What I Need To Do. I Have A Fairly Small Budget So I Cant Just Go Out And Buy A Crate. And I Would Like To Experience The Process. I Know How To Do It Im Just Not Sure Where To Start. If Anyone Can Help Me Out With This That Would Be Great.

First of all...how do you want the motor to perform? Will you be installing aftermarket heads and/or cam, or is this a stock rebuild? Do you have plans to put a blower, turbo, or nitrous on it or not?

Tough call on an injected motor. There are intake manifolds available that will help out in the fuel/air department and increase power, as well as cams and various other parts. It will really point down to what you want this truck to do. You're going to have to change computers, and injections systems to make this work. The I-6 you have is a good motor, and has a few hot-rod options itself, in regards to intakes, cams, compression ratio's, and headers and exhaust. The one thing I'll say for the 300 I-6....it's one tough engine. You might be better of rebuilding it, and saving yourself the money on the conversion, as well as rebuild of a motor not directly made for your truck, unless you have a similar truck with the motor you want, and all the donor parts.
