Axle weight ratings.
I recently picked up my custom ordered Ford F-250 4*4 extended-cab Diesel/Tqshift truck yesterday with the 10,000 weight rating package on the door panel, and the door panel says that the front axle has a 5200lb weight rating and not the 6000lb weight rating that I thought that it would have, (As stated in the fliers that I was reading) Does anyone know why it says this or was it a error in the marketing dept. to put this change in when it was not real.

The heavier front axle weight rating may have been part of a snow plow package, camper package, or heavy service suspension package that your truck may not have as part of the weight rating package that you ordered, or it may have been the max front axle weight rating for a different configuration truck than you have (F350 maybe). I'm not sure what all the new ratings are on the '05 trucks so this is just a guess on my part. You may want to ask your dealer about the discrepency.
