Ford V10 Spec's
Also if I were to mod out a V10, would 600HP be reasonable or a little out of reach?
Thanks, sounds like a good engine, I dont know much about it so I figured I start somewhere.

Dont' know the early history of the Modular Triton series V8 and V10 but from 99 to present the V10 was rated at 295-310 flywheel HP. The 04 V8 was changed to a three valve with variable valve timing and got a significant boost of HP. In 2005 the V10 got 3 valve but no variable timing and raised to 362 flywheel HP.
This motor is 415 cubic inches of overhead cam design and pretty good sized.
Aftermarket goodies include chips, air induction systems, bigger MAF, bigger throttle bodies, headders, and exhaust sytems. I have not heard of any aftermarket heads, cams, cranks, rods, or pistons. For enough money these can be found from specialty shops built to your specs.
With Nitrous and a blower 600 HP is possible but unless there are some serious mods to the internals I would not think it will last long at those power levels.
Many folks are able to eek out an extra 35-65HP with some simple bolt ons and a chip. The more expensive blower mods getting upwards of 426HP out of it.
This is a sophisticated motor from an electronic point of view and any ideas that it will just swap into a old truck are iffy. Total length, width, and heigth connected to a 6sp aluminum manual or 5 sp Automatic make for one long and big power package. The entire vehicle has to accomodate all the electronic sensors. This includes rear axel (Veriable Speed Sensor), fuel system, transmission and engine management sensors. The entire dash is controlled by the Power Control Module PCM.
I don't keep the dimensions or all the stats in my head so this is a start.
I was not aware that 04's got three valve heads or variable. I thought the three valve heads were 05 only and up?
