O2 sensor saga, continued.......

Ok, I've tried penetrating oil, a breaker bar, a wrench with a LARGE piece of pipe for leverage, nothing works. Can't get that sucker out.

For reference, it's in the crossover pipe from the driver's side exhaust manifold, not on the manifold flange itself.

I've checked with both new parts suppliers, and junkyards, can't find a single crossover pipe with the O2 fitting in it. Any suggestions about what to do?

I'm trying to keep the cost down, otherwise I'd just take it to a shop, have them drill out the old sensor and retap the threads.

Torch and an impact driver will get it out. Heat the weld-on threaded bushing and then use the impact on it.

yeah, I knew that. I always do, but this is a used truck, bought it for cheap.

I'll try that, it's just VERY hard to get to. I can barely fit a wrench in the space available, without taking the exhaust right off the truck.

What a pain...........
