I installed the Kenwood DDX 7015 along with the Nav & Alpine S series componet speakers in the front doors, and Alpine Co-ax's in the rear doors. The problem is I am still not happie with the sound, I am think about an Amp or a Sub or both. I have the space where the Jack is to use & the space under the passanger seat, if posible I would like to keep the space under the rest of the rear seat for storage. Any help would be appreicated.
What kind of amp? How many channels? does it have the have fad capibility? how many watts? where to locate it?
Kid,
Not sure what model truck you have..... Take a look at my gallery. I have a Qlogic sub enclosure w/ a 10" Sony. Hits pretty hard. I have a 4ch Alpine amp (bridged to 3ch) that runs the fronts and the sub. I run the rears off the deck. Good sound. And lots of adjustments available to get what you want. PM me if you have questions. Good luck JP
Look at my gallery as well, I have a JL 10W6 (5" depth makes for easy mounting) and a JL 250/1 amp. Everyone that hears it is shocked it is only one 10. Sounds VERY clean. (and loud)
Since you have an SCAB your only real option for a sub is to use the room under the passenger side rear seat. Did you check my gallery? You can probably have a custom enclosure made also. I know that you can remove the heater vents under the passenger seat and probably fit an amp ok. I didn't want to remove the vent so installed it on the center hump.
Do you have a scab or a screw? I was looking at the QLogic enclosure but wasn't sure if it would work on a screw. Also what do you think of it? Are you happy with it and what did you do with your jack? Sorry for all the questions. But I haven't found anyone else that has any experience with QLogic.

That's not true. The place to put a sub in a SCAB is under the driver's side rear seat. I have the Audiophile with the stock sub, and thats where it's at.
If you want your system to sound better, you should add an amp or two. An amp will give your aftermarket speakers a much better sound, and a sub will complete the sound. Music was not make to be listened to without some rich bass in there. Even my stock 8" sub with 90 watts sound a million times better than no sub at all. A four channel amp running your 4 door speakers, and a mono bass amp running a 8 or 10 inch sub under the back seat would sound great. IMO
I have a shop here locally in Laredo,TX that makes custom sealed eclosures for $100 + S/h...I have a 04' FX4 SCAB too and i have 2, 10" HE Rockford Fosgate subs poundin. The only thing is that you have to find another place for your jack; I pack my jack whenever I travel. As far as the amp... You have more space than you think...All you have to do is take off the back seat by unscrewing nuts on the back seats' driver side seatbelt.(the little black box on the top of the back row) It might be quite a hassle picking up the seat in the back, but you have the whole back wall to mount. (if you have the power window in the back it has a module but you still have plenty of room for a large amp.) E-Mail me if you want the HOOK-UP!
Oh Yeah the eclosure I have fits both the SCAB & SCREW. The only difference between the two is about 4 inches more leg room. The seats are exactly the same size!
I would love to see some pics. Does your shop have a web site? 100 bucks for a box...that's pretty good. Does that include carpet and all that? Does the box have a divider, so it's like to seperate boxes? Can you fit 12's under there? I don't care about the jack. What about fitting a box behind the back seat on the wall your talking about? I have the power slider.....SCAB
UNLOADIT,
Sorry man, my mistake. I meant the driver side rear seat.
Daorte,
The Qlogic sounds nice. A lot of it will depend on the sub and amp that you use. It's definitely a tighter bass. As for the jack question....My mistake. The sub box is actually on the driver's side. Check my gallery. PM for more info. JP
You need a SUB and a AMP. Anything less is too civilized. JL audio makes custom enlclosures for super duties. They fit in either the console for captains chairs or in the seat for banch seats. I have a alpine V12 5 channel amp and it fits (just barely) under the passanger seat.
I have not seen a stealth box from JL yet for the 04/05. Q-logic makes one, or you can get one from supercrewsound.com, they have cutom boxes that fit single or dual 8's or 10's under the back seat of the 04/05 F150. Though JL makes good subs, I like the idea of getting an empty box, and going with a couple subs of my choice. Its all a matter of opinion.
I just installed boston acoustics sl 80s in my front and rear doors with a jl 300/4 amp. I am waiting for my jl stealth box to arrive anyday and i am putting a jl 250/1 on it. the stealthbox for the 04 comes with one 10 and from my experience withe the stealthboxes in other vehicles they cant be beat. I will post pics when it is finished.
