Hi I have a 1988 Bronco 2 and recently i have noticed that is was getting kind of hard to put the key in. Well last night the key finally did not go in all the way and I looked inside the key slot and there was a little piece of metal floating around in there. I was wondering if anybody new how to change the switch to a knew one and if it was very hard. Thanks for you help.
Soounds like you need a new cylinder, try your best to get the key back in, turn it to run, remove the trim and there's a hole that you put a small punch in to depress a lock pin. If you can get the key in your going to have to drill it out, let me know if you need the procedure and I'll track it down.
