Question for ya

I have read a few times now that Ford sells as many Diesels as Chev and Dodge combined. Is there a way to verify this story? Also does Ford own Cummins or not? I have heard both

No Ford does not own Cummins. At one point they held a small % of stock but nothing major. About Ford selling more diesels than Dodge and GM combined, well I dont know about that one. I think some of the crap that is said on these boards is just close minded people wanting to be heard. Sorry I wasnt able to answer both your questions.

Its really hard to determine if ford sells more diesels than chevy and dodge combined because of the way they all report. Sales through sept look like this, Ford - 697938, GM - 687846 and Dodge - 328929. They don't break it up by diesel/gas.

Wow, is it me or is GM catching Ford? That would be a catastrophe.

I'm not so sure that combined GM sales have not beaten Ford in the past. That number is the combine Silverado and Serria sales. The F-series would still be the best selling line of pickups because they are all built by the same division. Sales are tracked sperately for Chevy and GMC.

The reason I say that is because sales for GM are only up 2% this years where Ford is up 12%. Given those numbers GM out sold Ford last year. But the number one selling vechile for the last 21 years is the F-series pickup. GM should get a clue and drop the GMC line. Maybe then they could have bragging rights.

I very much doubt it, and they certainly couldn't with their current line up...

Good point, and if Ford is behind in the truck market, they are only going to make better products till they get #1 again...
