Cold Air Intake

bought one of those cheapo cold air intakes off ebay. i put it on and nowevery once in a while the idle goes to 2k and theres a strange noise like a prolonged whoopie cushion blast. there was a plastic tree that was on there and it didnt seem to do anything so i omitted it. it went to the idle air control. i thought it was a tree and not any kind of check valve. now i cant find it to put it back on. can anyone post a pick of theres so i could see how its run cause i forget.

check the PCV valve... umm ur MAF could have been damaged also. but u have a truck or a mustang?

Check www.airraid.com they have PDF instructions for their intakes, it shows were everything it supposed to go. You have have a vacum leak or didn't hook something up right.
