service engine soon light

First of all the service engine soon light comes on with engine at an idle. When i go to hit the gas pedel the truck doesnt respond it just sits there at the stop light but after i floor the pedel the light goes off and the truck takes off like nothing ever happend??? has anyone had this problem cause ive changed the fuel filter and the ford place said nothing is wrong with their system... but wouldnt u say there is??

Without any further info I would say TPS - throttle position sensor. Comes as a pedal asembly. Previous threads say it may be under waranty depending on year.

does a 2001 f350 7.3liter have a tps Throttle postition sensor on it? i call the ford place and they said the computer couldnt pull it up or it didnt have one on it at all.

Yes it does. It and the idle validation switch are mounted to the throttle pedal, and like mech2161 said, it can only be replaced as an assembly.
