They were put in the 80's ford trucks like the f-600's. They are the same as the 429's and 460's they just have a shorter stoke.

well I wouldn't know, but which 351 (M, W, or C) are you talking about, I bet that makes a BIG difference

For torque it really depends on the stroke. I am pretty sure all the 351's have the same stroke of 3.5 inches, but I do not know the stoke of the 370 I would asume it is the same or less then this.

Actually, no. The "longer lever" theory is a long-standing myth that doesn't hold up when you start putting it to numbers. It will have some effect on dwell at TDC, but not enough to make a noticeable difference until you get into some of the more radical builds where every tenth of a HP is counted.

the 370 was available at least since 1979 both my F-600s have one. they have the same stroke as the 429, but a smaller bore I think

370 4.050 bore 3.590 stroke
429 4.362 bore 3.590 stroke
460 4.362 bore 3.850 stroke

I plan on taking my spare 370 truck engine, and swapping a 68-71 429/460 block, and 68-71 429 internals to make a hot truck 429 for my crewcab F-600

decrease compression down to 9:1, use 73-77 Lincoln heads, (unleaded) edelbrock intake, 600 cfm 4v carb, roller fulcrums, a cam with .470/490 lift, 260/270 dur. I dont have a desktop dyno, but this combo "should" result in 350-400 hp
