I have a dash light out, by the tach, ford wants 3 hours to do the job, I know it can be done in 20 min. if you know how to pop out the panals. Has anyone one done it before? I have the new bulb just need to know where to start. Didn't want to pull to hard on lower panal and break something.
Very easy job indeed, definitely NOT 3 hrs ... maybe 30 mins.
You have to pull two panels, the one above the steering column (it pops out) and the trim around the cluster (it's bolted in). They come out fairly easy ... the tricky part is getting the headlight switch out. Here's the procedure:
-Disconnect your neg. battery cable.
-Turn the **** to the headlight on position and pull the switch out like your turning on the Fog's
-Stick a small screwdriver in the back of the **** to release it from the switch and pull the **** off
-Turn the **** around 180 degrees and put it back on, be sure to push it all the way on
-Now turn the switch to where the high part of the know is in the off postition
-The housing will come right oout of the dash and reveal another bolt holding the trim panel on
Thanks for the help, I know it is an easy job, A guy installed an alarm a while back and needed to correct the shift lever indicator it was tilted and he adjusted it through the dash in about 5 minutes. thanks
