1988 ranger 2.3 motor

i have a 2.3 motor that went bad. will a 2.3 out of a 94 ranger work? does anyone know what years will work? where can i find out what years would work? thanks

i would talk to the ford dealership with those questions ...they could prvide good information on your subject...good luck
