Gas mileage
Does anyone know if a guy was to take a truck like the ranger, 4x4 of course, drop a newer V8 into it with a 5spd and keep modifications to things like only exahaust and intake what kind of mileage to expect, or is it even possible to get 17 18 mpg out of a v8 ranger?

The first part of your question doesn't jive with the second part. My 10 year old 4.0 auto gets 17 mpg around town all the time, almost 22 on the highway. All Rangers will get at least 17-18 mpg unless something is wrong with them.

Really? thats cool, I had talked to a guy who said the most you are going to get out of a ranger 4x4 is like 14 or 15 max. He was just some guy who probably had no idea and just threw some numbers out. Just out of curiosity though, is it possible to do the 5.0 swap and still get decent gas mileage or is that just asking for too much?
