M50D tranny removal problems
1) I can't get the hydraulic line disengaged from the slave cyl. quick disconnect, though the manual seems to indicate that its a simple press-and-pull type of operation.
2) Try as I might, I cannot seem to maneuver the transmission back off the output shaft. The shift tower hits the sheetmetal of the cab floor, even through I removed the shifter stub and cover. There's nothing up there I can unbolt. AND, I can release both the jack under the engine and the one under the tranny and it WON'T droop far enough to clear the floor. I have everything else disconnected (quadruple-checked!) and I seriously need to get this thing on the road like an hour ago!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you loosen the motor mount bolts? Sometimes loosening those will help give you the extra inch or two needed to get the transmission out of the truck.

Sucky thing is that I have to go out tonight and put the tranny-motor bolts back in so I can return the tranny jack to the rental place. I won't have any time to work on it until the weekend.
Thanks for giving me some hope, though!
