hi
ive got an 1987 and i recently replaced the exaust manifolds with stock manifolds. now it sounds like i have flowmaster. cant find a leak. wandering if any of u have tricks to test for exaust leaks. ur help is greatly appicated.

If you recently replaced the manifolds, tighten the bolts to tourque, and then justify an exhaust leak. What do you mean by sounding like you have flowmaster? Flowmaster is a brand that makes exhaust parts, like mufflers and headers, and bolt on exhaust kits with high flow cat's, amongst other parts.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. One exhaust leak and the sytem sounds like its got Flowmasters (Flushmaster if you ask me) on it. Since you did just replace the manifolds, double check that they are seated fully and retorque the bolts first. Take special care to check at the union between the Y-pipe and each manifold. If its loud enough the gap is probably large enough to blacken the area around the leak with soot so it will give you something to look for.
