here's a good one. dads 98 ranger 4x4 excab 4 litre was running ok but the check engine light was on. some code to do with a general lean condition. mechanic friend changed the fuel filter and suggested to try it. ....you never know..... but light comes on again. few days later, mechanic buddy checks mass air flow sensor. pulled it out and we all start laughing. a perfectly dead mosquito stuck to it! wings out and everthing. don't know how it got past the air filter or how it stayed on because the light had been on for a couple weeks. wish i had a picture but he flicked it off after we marveled at it. you never know.
