ok, I installed my Volant intake on my 5.4L '04. I reset the computer by taking off the battery cables for the entire time of the install. The trucks starts but when I push down the throttle it chokes out and dies. I need some help here. I know many people have installed the kit and love it. Where did I go wrong? Any ideas? I really don't want to put the factory equipment back in, but I need my truck for work tomorrow. HELP, please...
I only disconnected 2 things. a hose, and a sensor. The sensor I had to take off of the factory system and attached perfectly to the new kit. The hose replaced the old hose, since the factory connectors did not fit on the kit.
I had the sensor on backwards. Even after I paid attantion to the direction arrow. (or so I thought)
Took it for a spin...
Sounds GREAT. We'll see how it is over time. I have been keeping records of mileage and fuel consumption, so if there is a change, I should see it over a few tanks.

Thanks for the help guys.... Crisis averted.
Well heck. I really want to do the intake thing and am still debating between the Airaid and the Volant. I like the looks of both. I read tha Airaid has enhanced there design that dealt with a sensor issue. Some say the Airaid is too loud others say not. How does the Volant sound cruising around town versus on the highway. Stomping into it I'm sure they all sound pretty loud. I gotta good idea. Someone just send me one, I don't care which one and that's what I will go with. LOL

I have their system installed on my truck. Simple and easy installation, Proven dyno results, reusable foam filter element,
To Sidelt, did you also install the ram air tube on the Volant? If so where do you hook the ram air tube on the front end to? I'm thinking of using this combination but wonder if there is a problem when running in wet weather. Any advise on this would be appreciated from you or anyone out there. TIPI BOB

No, if you think there dyno results are good, they suck. Look at the increase of where its at and tell me that there system is better than the stock system at lower rpms. You cant. 12 PEAK hp, 17 PEAK ft tq. woop-de-do. Whats the average increase across the entire band?
But hey if it works for you then fine, just dont belive what companies tell you. And foam filters have been around forever, and on a side note i really love this statement true flow made...
Unlike paper and gauze filters, foam filters will continue to perform well as the filter gets dirty.
Gauze filters work better as they get dirtier. Got to love comapny strategies.
