Tire Pressure

The tag on the door post of my 78 f150 4X4 give the load ratings for the truck with the factory tires at 35 PSI. I have 30X9.5X15 tires on there now and they have their load ratings listed at 50 PSI. What pressure should I run them at?

You will not be able to go by what's on the door as a 78 did not have radials. The 50 on the tire is the max pressure. I would assume by that max that the tires are load range C tires. I would suggest about 36 to 38 to start. See how they wear and ride. Adjust from there, but I wouldn't run any more than a couple of pounds lower than that.

Thanks. They are C rated. I've been running them at 35. I am having a problem with them going low every 2 or 3 days not flat just low I might need new valve stems.

If you didn't replace valve stems when you changed tires, I would definitely start with that.
