Angry Help! 2.5L Spark Knocking

Can anyone help? I have a 2000 2.5L with 92,000. It seems to spark knock when the air temp outside is warmer.

I have never gotten any diagnostic codes.

I have changed the plugs and IAC, cleaned the MAF and throttle body. What should I do next? Change the Intake Air Temp Sensor, or the Coolant temp. Sensor?

Any suggestions would be great!

THANKS!

Try running premium fuel, first off. If this gets rid of the knock, and you don't want to pay that much money for fuel, try backing off the timing a bit. There's likely an engine knock sensor as well, and it may need to be replaced.

Its an E-DIS system, and you can't adjust the timing unfortunately.

Try running some Sea Foam or similiar decarbonizer through the fuel system. It is likely you are experiencing pre-ignition from a hot spot in a cylinder.

It is possible that the IAT sensor is giving incorrect values to the computer and making it think that the incoming air is cooler than it really is and therefore is giving too little fuel and too much spark. If decarbonizing the engine doesn't work, I'd try the IAT sensor first.
