What's going on folks? I have a question......
Today while changing my oil I realized that my front left side of the truck sits lower than the front right side. I got out my tape measure and I have a 1/2 inch less travel on the left side than on the right. Any ideas? I haven't heard of this issue before so I thought I'd run it by the experts.
Ever smacked the one side in a pot-hole or curb? Check the PSI in tires? Inspect suspension linkage/bushings; check for blown shock absorber? Any mod's to the suspension? Same tires up front? all the way around? Do any off-roading? Did you buy the truck new and are the only owner? or did you buy it used and who knows what the truck went thru prior to becoming yours?
Just a few ideas of areas to think about and/or look at. Hope this helps... good luck in finding the problem and I hope it's nothing serious or costly!
My F250 is also about 1/2 an inch higher on the passengers side. But I think SMiller has a point. I think the fuel tank is on the drivers side right? That could be it.

The infamous drivers side lean...Yep a lot of trucks do this, but not a lot of people notice. The accecptable variance according to Ford is 5/8" I think.

Mike - how big a ol' boy are ya'?
I made a point to make sure mine wasn't that way, so I drove it on level ground, got out and checked it. Not much difference...I think about 1/4" or less. (But, it only had about 1/4 tank of gas - didn't even cross my mind)
Now, since I've been driving it for a few years, it has slowly given in under the pressure. 250 pounds plus boots, knives and such, and almost a whole toolbox of junk in the door pockets have made it lean gracefully.
But, I'm partial to the driver's side toolbox in the bed and keep most of my stuff on that side, which helped in the leaning process.
However, since the crown in the road is on the driver's side, no one notices it.
Thanks for your replies guys. I should have been a bit more specific. I didn't have much time to type as I was getting yelled at by the old lady for being late for dinner.
It's an all stock (suspension) 03' F350. I'm the second owner so possibly something happened with it's previous owner. He owned a company and used it when customers were in town. It had a half tank of gas in it when I took measurements. And to answer your question Orn, I'm 210...... so I'd hope that wouldn't cause too much of a lean! While changing the oil I took a look at the suspension since I've been feeling/hearing a noise when going over bumps in the front left side ( under my feet ). But everything looked okay. I didn't check the shock though. I didn't think that a shock would cause a vehicle to sit uneven... but I'll check that out.
I had the same issue. When I first got the truck it appeared as if the bed of the truck was lower on the left side. Did the measuring and noticed a difference. Though about the fuel weight, ect but when I had it at the dealer I had them take a look. They stated the left front spring was sagging one inch lower than it was suppose to be. Since the truck only had a few thousand miles on it they order a new spring. After the replacement was in the truck now appears level.
I now have 13,000 on it and still seems level. I guess it was one of those odd things that was bad. No other problems

I don't think I have seen a truck or Jeep that sit completely level on all 4 corners. We always measure before and after doing a lift to identify any possible problems, Slightly unlevel is okay.
Go to a dealership and see how many on the lot measure even.
Most of the superduty cabs sit higher on the right side than the left by 1/2 to 5/8 of an inch. Look at the bed/cab side body line alignment. The left side cab/bed usually line up and on the right side the bed is lower. I have noticed this mostly with the supercab short bed and crew cab models. Not sure if this has anything to do with the drivers side lean or not.
