Need suggestions on plugging hole...

Have your machinist build a little cover plate that incorporates the 3/8 bolt holes and the PCV inlet. You could even baffle it. Counter sink or counter bore the bolt holes for a flush, clean look on top of the motor. Add an oring groove for sealing and avoid the RTV altogether.

The chromed button heads would be clean and simple.

go to a local hardware store and get a metal plug. they will have them. you can get them in crome and stuff.

Dont they have those little breather elements that can screw in to the valve cover like an oil filler cap? I have a mini filter cap I use for a filler cap works good...I think its a moroso.

Yes. I have one of those installed already in the hole using a PCV grommet. The holes I need to fill are on each side of that, where 3/8 bolts went through the cover to hold the old breather on. Right now I am continuing my search for a rubber grommet style plug. I am going to look at some of the stock firewall plugs, to see if any of them fit.
