I have a 99 7.3 PSD, my poblem is that all of a sudden it is running very rough and when i open the valve on my fuel bowl i runs good again. I checked my fuel filter cleaned it and replaced it a then know when i open the valve at the fuel bowl fuel gushes out very fast not like before it was slow and now it flows very very fast. It idles so bad at times it knocks loud. Then it goes to normal.

Does it get better when you fill the tank to the top? If so that's a good indication that you need to do these mods.
Also and this is to all who have done the Hutch mod: I have found that when the tank is less than 1/4 full it's still gulping lots of air as the fuel sloshes around. Makes the truck rock and roll at idle for a few minutes. As time goes by and the fuel settles in the tank and begins to draw pure liquid fuel it settles down. Go fill it up and then it's smooth all the time. So I have made it a habit to start looking for a fuel station at 1/4 to 1/3 tank. By then it's time to pull over anyway. Aching buns and all.
