will not idle...:-(

i have a 1999 f-250 4 x 4 LD, when 1st started anytime it will not idle, the check engine light does not come on, no data recorded in brain. in order to drive for several miles is to not stop or keep foot on accelerator. i have changed the battery, the connections and cables, the fuel pump, the filter, these are items i have been told could be the problem. has anyone seen this and what other issues could be causing this idling problem......thank you for your help

Sounds like your idle air control valve is bad, I had the same problem you are having right now, I changed the iac and my truck works fine now.

great thank you now one more ?

i have always considered myself semi mechanically inclined and more so on the 70's and 80's but along with most i am lost now days. can you tell me where i would locate the IAC on the truck.......thanks for your help it is much appreciated.

It's on the back side of the throttle body, just a couple of bolts and the electical conection. Just helped my buddy replace his IAC this weekend, I think it was $40 for the part.
