Explorer V-8

I am thinking of getting a 5.0 from a 2000 Explorer to replace the high mileage 5.0 in my 93 F-150. I was wondering if anybody was aware of any problems I might run into with physical connections ( i.e. mounting holes being different on the blocks ect. ). I know that the heads on the Explorer motor are different but I am not sure how that will affect me( I have the Ford Racing shorty headers for my truck). I am not too concerned with accessories or electronics unless it creates a problem that can't be resolved by swapping the parts from my truck.<O></O>

any insight or previous experiences would be appreciated<O></O>

The motor would be a decent swap over. you will want it as complete as possible to make things easier on you. you can reuse the wiring harness from your 93. does your 93 motor have a tfi mounted on the dizzy? its a grey looking deal mounted on it with a connector. if so then you would need to use that dizzy from your old motor on to the explorer motor but after you swap the dizzy gears due to the explorers cam type.

My F150 is a 93, so it has eec IV, I should be able to work that out, my biggest concern so far is the headers. I know that the GT-40p heads are different but I am not sure exactly how.

The GT-40Ps have a different spark plug location, so a normal header won't work for clearance issues (can't get the plugs out), so you have to have headers specifically made to work on GT-40Ps.
