Arrow Directional Woes

I removed about a mile of old wires on my 52 F2 (6 volt), and ran completely new wires for tailights, and front parking lights (I added amber bulbs, and am going to use these as front signals). I checked all the wiring with a jumper, and every bulb lit up. Then I added an aftermarket signal control to the steering column, and a new blinker. OK, now I have head and taillights, and brake lights – but no signals !! Could this be a problem with 6 volt not working with the new control ? There are indicator lights on the control – these would be for 12v systems. Maybe I should pull it apart and short across the bulbs ? I will be connecting my dash indicator lights, so if I don’t have them on the control it’s no problem. Thanks<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Steven,

I'm assuming you are still 6V system, right? Is the aftermarket signal control for 6V or 12V? If for 12V, be sure flasher is for 6V not 12V.

Yup, still 6 volt and I think the unit is for 12v, hence the question about the indicator lights. I currently have a new 6V flasher.
Thanks

Steven,

If the flasher is 6V and it is wired correctly it should work. All I can suggest is that you go back over all the connections and double check the fuse and power to the unit. Is the signal control switch new also or used? It should work unless the switch is bad...
