1950 Dual Diaphram Fuel Pump flat 6.

I am going to put one on and plug up the carb hole. How well do these run the windshield wiper or wipers I hope? I also have had more than one person tell me if I wanted power brakes later the flat 6 may not have enough vaccuum. I am hoping this may work in the future to power power brakes also if I want them.

I'm not sure if you can use it without a connection to the manifold vaccuum as well. I believe they call this a 'vaccum assist' pump, so it may not have enough suck to run wipers and power brake booster. ...Terry

A vac reservior would be a better idea if you're trying to keep them from slowing or stopping when under accelleration. There was a vac reservior listed in the car parts books in the 40's for this problem. You can still get them at your local Ford dealer or try a junkyard. Get a plastic one as the old metal "tomato juice" cans tend to rot or get pin holes in them.
