Diesel engines run at high temps, so if you are infact getting all of that power, temps are going to rise, so Ithe aluminum heads they come with cannot withstand the same temps as cast iron ones.

If temps were a problem. Mtomac would know about it. So they must not be.

Pistons are smaller and have rings, also. Heads are much larger, so there will be more thermal expansion over their length. I'd sure prefer cast iron heads. Time will tell on the Dmax's aluminum heads...we haven't heard about any major, widespread problems with them yet, but I wouldn't hold my breath, either--they just aren't KNOWN to be 350K-400K engines at this point like the PSD and the Cummins are.

Sorry not interested in this so called Diesel performance truck. I still think the Allisons gonna be a problem unless they revise it. 700ft lb is a lot of torque to stick behind a trans only built for 500. maybe i'm wrong but still sounds like trouble. I wouldn't take it unless it was given to me, then i would sell it and buy a superduty, lol

There are built allisons holding 750-800 rwhp and 1400-1500 rwft#. Do you really think GM doesn't know how to make an allison hold 700 ft# at the crank?

Yah, I would hope GM would know better than to keep the tranny they have now. This is going to be a beast of a truck when it is put into mass production.

With that kind off power. I would rather have the torqueshift in the superduty as well as the superduty truck. Will GM ever learn and get a straight front axle on there trucks. IFS doesnt belong on a HD truck IMO.

Most likely people wont take these trucks off road, I mean if you pay that kind of money for a truck you should off road it (at least I wouldnt). I dont see how you can say you would rather have the TS in it that the Alli they are going to put in it when you or anyone else who posts on here havent been behind the wheel of a truck with one in it.

The Allison in a big truck is nice. I've driven one before. But in a pickup i would rather have a TS instead. I don't like the way they are in the pickup. theres something i just don't like. I don't like the feel of it. There is something about it. The TS is better behind a small diesel IMO. I like the shifts better in the TS. I can't tell you why i like the TS but i do.
About the IFS i completely agree about it shouldn't be in a HD truck. When lifting and such a solid axel is way better. Who cares about off-roading them now. How about 10 years or 20 later on. I'm sure people aren't gonna be like hey 20 years ago that truck was expensive, we better not off-road it. I get your point BigDaddy6969. ut later on people will off-road these trucks guarinteed.
