I finally got around to replacing the broken pedal assembly under the dash to fiix the stiff clutch problem. Works great now and shifts and everything.
When I was installing the new assembly I must have racked the brake linkage too much in the wrong direction and now it has a vacuum leak that I can hear until I push on the pedal a little. the pedal is hard to push again. I have a new vacuum pump on it and it was working great until this crap happened.
Have I broken some seals inside the booster? I can hear the leak down by where the linkage goes through the firewall.
do you have to unhook the brake lines to replace the booster? If the brake lines are unhooked I think you have to prime the master cylinder before it goes back on.
You should be able to un bolt the master cyl and carefully move to one side, this involves bending the lines slightly and like i said carefully. If your lines look rusty or weak in any way you may end up removing them anyway. If it was me id try leaving them on,no need to remove unless you break one. Then you would remove them anyway to fix them.
