Carburator Has Issues
Hi Everyone:
I have a 1985 Ranger, with a 2.0 L engine.
I have determined that the carb. is bad. (Replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, PCV valve).
The truck starts only when you put gas directly into the carb.
A rebuilt costs around $260.00.
Now, my question is, is it very hard to replace the carb? If so, what do you see as the hardest part.

Carburator Has Issues
A carb is usually just held down by 2 or 4 bolts to the intake manifold. I'd say the hardest part is all the other connections. make sure all the wires, vacuum lines, throttle linkges hookup to the same place on the new one, and make sure nothing gets in the way of the linkages. good luck
