I will say it seems like a deal compared to body work though. That is the biggest scam IMO. Everybody gives the exact same number of hours per line item and runs about the same hourly rate. So the only difference is what items they put on the quote.
I was looking at replacing two pieces of sheet metal on a truck (fender and outside box side) and it was $3000. No thanks. I'm sure it's because 95% of the people who come in there aren't paying for the work themselves, insurance is. At least mechanics have to compete in the real world.
