5 amps?

Alternator options for my 91 F-150 XLT Lariat are 75 amps and 80 amps.
I have power windows, and the passenger door lock has been disabled.
Does a 5 amps between the two make any real diference?
5 amps really worth $25? Thanks

There may be more than a 5 amp difference. One may be an internal regulated alt, and one may be external. There also may be some mounting hole differences. I am guessing at all this, but you might want to do some more research if you are debating about swapping from one to another.

I went and checked.....all the mounts, harness', rotation, and with internal regulator.
Yep, just 5 amp difference.
On second look, noticed the 75 amp is for use in vehicles without electric seats.
Since I have no electric seats.....75 amps should be okay for my use.
Kind of a silly question now that I researched a little more. Thanks.

One thing to think about as well, 5 amps may be rated difference. Could be the 75 is pushed to the max, i.e. runs very hot at 75A, and the 80 could be idle so to say, runs cooler at max draw. Maybe something to look at as well.
