power steering conversion
croz, is the donor power box a Bendix or Ford box? The Bendix box has 4 bolts holding the square aluminum cover. Ford box has 2 bolts. If you have a Bendix box it is a bolt in. If you have a Ford box, it's 2" longer. You will have to get the shorter steering column, firewall mount and pitman arm. I just finished converting a 68 CS from power Bendix to power Ford box. David, It will work but I advise against it. I have 76 I-beams, with the disc brakes and power steering on my 66. The later Ford gear 73-79 made by Saganaw is a much better gear. You will need to exchange the column with the gear, but it is a direct bolt up. I bought a 76 donor, upgraded my brakes and steering as well as to auto tranny, sold parts that I didn't need and all my parts cost me nothing, but my labor.
