MAP- Baro sensor

B2 2.9 4x4- Can someone tell me if a MAP sensor can "start" to go bad or does it either work or not. I have a code 22 in memory, it runs very rich and last week it dumped on me so bad that it was as though I was running on 4 cylinders. I got it to clear up and it runs on all 6 now but I am afraid it will happen again.
Thanks

Can it fail intermittently? I'd bet it can, but it doesn't seem to do so very often. For that matter, the MAP sensor doesn't seem to fail very often at all. I expect an intermittent fault like that would more likely be in the wiring between the computer and the MAP.
Also, running that rich can also be caused by a bad fuel pressure regulator. The diaphragm ruptures and leaks fuel directly into the intake through the vacuum line attached to the FPR. Check that line for fuel, and replace the FPR if you find any in there.

I did check the Vac line at the FPR and there was no fuel in it. I will look at the wireing next.
Thanks
