Question HOW TO: Clean EGR & Replace Oxy sensors?????

Hello all,

Can anyone point me to a previous thread or simply answer the following. Based on what I've read so far and the fact that I just picked up my first CHECK ENGINE light at 129,987 miles with a P0171 (too lean bank 1 code).

After searching all of the threads, I thought that 2 things were needed.

1. Clean the EGR valve. HOW do I do that? The Haynes manual only talks about replacing it.

2. Replacing the oxygen sensors. Do I need a "special socket" for these once I get the wires off? Any special tricks here? Are they accessable easily from below?

Any other thought on these or tracking down my P0171 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob
