I've never thought of purchasing a plow so have no idea what they go for. I've plowed using my buddy's truck about four times so I'm still new to it but I enjoy plowing and am no looking to purchase a plow for my F-150. I was wondering if anyone has any Do's and Don'ts as far as putting a plow on a 1998 F-150 with the 4.6L v-8. Maybe you can give me an idea of blade size I should or should not use, and if you have any rough idea on what I'll be looking to spend.
A plow is really hard on a half ton truck. You can do it, but its really not very nice to it. You need to follow the directions in the manual, which includes releveling the suspension etc. If I were you I would pick up a old clunker that already has a plow installed (several nice 4x4 3/4 ton Fords in Seacoast nh for $3k or less).
