While installing a trailer brake controller inside the cab of my 2001 F150 (automatic transmission), I must have shorted a wire. Now my truck with the engine running will not shift from park to any other gears even when the brake is engaged. I have checked all of the fuses and they are all okay. What could be causing this problem?
It's got to be a problem in that brake ckt. Triton's got the zero in on that. I'd also make sure you disconnect the battery before wiring... you don't short things when you do it that way.
Sorry guys would have gotten back to you sooner, but I'm still smokin'.
Us electricians try to keep the smoke in the motors, the wires, anything that runs on the stuff. For some reason letting the smoke out is what kills those things.
